As I went full bore into my weighty pastry, I noticed that the single item they had purchased was broken up into four smaller pieces.

Initially, I had believed that they were just trying to save a buck, but after seeing this “strange behavior” on many different occasions, and in many different restaurants, I realized it was part of a healthy lifestyle. The Europeans have it right when it comes to “portion sizing” their meals. It truly is not as important as what you are eating, then as to how much of it you are eating. So now I am trying to implement this same rational back in the good old U.S.A.
